About This Project
Mint is working on launching a hub for "app notifications". The Premium team thought this would be a good opportunity to introduce notifications for Premium features, which could also double as an upsell for non-subscribers.
02
Creation of Premium Notification for Non-Subscribers
To start off, the product designer and I collaborated on how the notifications should look. My goal was to make sure the notification didn't feel like a traditional upsell. To do this, I decided to create notifications that were personalized to the customer's specific financial situation. But then this brought up the question as whether customers would feel tricked when they clicked on the card and came across a paid feature.

03
Testing and Results
I set up a test on UserTesting.com to gauge customers' reactions to the Premium notification cards. We had nine participants total, evenly divided up between three different tests.
Out of 9 participants, six found the notifications easily identifiable because of the diamond icon. However, they felt that the personalized content could have been clearer. With how the content was worded, customers had no idea what the feature was supposed to offer.
Unfortunately, I was switched to a new project before I could implement my changes.
